The Advanced Placement Examination is the final examination for a nationally standardized course offered in a limited number of secondary schools. AP allows students to begin work toward college credits while still in high school. Students should check with their school counselor or principal as to the availability of the AP examinations in their school. Students are responsible for submitting official exam scores to MCC. Scores should be received prior to course enrollment for accurate course advisement and placement. Scores that are five (5) years or older from the date taken will not be accepted. No more than 24 hours of credit by examination may be obtained either at MCC or by transfer from other institutions or a combination thereof.

McLennan Community College (MCC) offers a high-quality education at an affordable cost. Students choose MCC for a variety of reasons, but most want to meet occupational requirements, develop intellectual abilities and increase their future earning power. An impressive 96 percent of graduates indicate that if they were to start college over again, they would choose MCC. Located in Waco, Texas, MCC was established in 1965 by the citizens of McLennan County. MCC was the first junior college in Texas to incorporate the word "community" in its name. For more than 55 years, MCC has been serving Waco and the surrounding areas to help community members achieve their educational goals. MCC is located on a scenic 250-acre campus adjacent to Cameron Park and the Brazos River. Nestled among rolling hills and large trees, MCC has been recognized statewide for its natural beauty and outstanding architecture. The college also owns Highlander Ranch, a 200-acre horse farm located about five miles from campus, and has an Emergency Services Education Center, a 42-acre educational complex, off campus near the Waco Regional Airport. MCC has an average of 7,742 students enrolled each semester; 76% are in transfer programs and 24% are in workforce programs. The average student age is 23. The ethnicity of MCC students reflects the diverse population of Central Texas: Anglo, 47%; African-American, 13%; Hispanic, 34%; and other, 6%. The gender enrollment profile is 32% male and 68% female. Students enrolling at MCC may choose from academic course offerings that will transfer to four-year universities or technical career training that prepares students to enter the workforce. Training is offered in more than 40 technical fields, health professions, business and computer fields, commercial music, emergency services, and human services programs.
