From the Institution

Ohio Dominican University is Central Ohio's only comprehensive Catholic university, located just minutes from the heart of downtown Columbus - Ohio's capital city. ODU offers an expansive academic selection in a beautiful campus setting, and its faculty and staff are committed to preparing students to be ethical and effective leaders. ODU was founded in 1911 by the Dominican Sisters of Peace. Today, approximately 1,280 students study in more than 50 academic programs at ODU, which include 42 undergraduate majors and nine graduate-level programs, including Education, Business Administration, Physician Assistant Studies and Anesthesiologist Assistant Studies. With an average undergraduate class size of 12, students have an opportunity to interact and conduct research with their professors. In addition to offering a wide range of market-sensitive academic programs, Ohio Dominican offers outstanding high school students numerous opportunities to pursue accelerated pathways to earn their graduate degrees. ODU's unique partnerships with the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, University of Dayton Schools of Engineering and Law, as well as its own master's programs, provide students with a direct path to earn their advanced degrees to help them pursue and achieve their career goals. ODU's Adult & Continuing Education Program offers a wide range of certificate and degree offerings to help working adults achieve their educational goals. Many of ODU's adult programs are offered online, giving students the ability to enhance their credentials around their schedule. ODU is dedicated to serving the community and exemplifying its Catholic and Dominican values. Throughout the year, students spend more than 7,000 hours participating in a variety of service programs and activities to help improve the community in and around campus - as well as around the world. Ohio Dominican was granted full NCAA membership in July 2011, making ODU the only NCAA Division II program in Central Ohio. Today, approximately 330 ODU student-athletes compete on 16 varsity-level teams.
