From the Institution
Pomona College, located in Claremont, California, is recognized as one of the nation's premier liberal arts colleges. We foster a tight-knit community of adventurous, intellectually curious students driven to explore and pursue their academic and life goals. With approximately 1,777 students representing over 65 nations, all 50 U.S. states, as well as the District of Columbia, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, and Puerto Rico, Pomona College boasts a richly diverse student body. Our curriculum is comprehensive, offering 48 majors spanning the arts, humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. With a student-faculty ratio of 8 to 1 and average class sizes of 13, students benefit from close relationships with professors. Our proximity to Los Angeles, amidst mountains, deserts, and beaches, provides abundant opportunities for exploration, research, and internships. Nearly all students reside in one of 14 residence halls (with guaranteed housing for four years) on our 140-acre campus. As the founding member of The Claremont Colleges, a unique consortium of five undergraduate colleges, Pomona blends the advantages of a small liberal arts college with the resources of a larger institution. This unique model enables students to cross-register for 2,700 courses and engage with over 6,000 undergraduate peers across neighboring campuses. Pomona College has a need-blind policy for domestic students and is committed to meeting the full demonstrated financial need of all admitted students, without including loans in their financial aid packages.
