Ramapo College encourages and applauds students who challenge themselves with Advanced Placement coursework as part of their high school curriculum. Students who earn a 4 or 5 on their AP exams are eligible for course credit. Students should have their official AP scores sent to the Office of Admissions in order to have their credit evaluated. Once evaluated, students will receive a Transfer Credit Evaluation via email detailing what the equivalent Ramapo College course is for the credit being awarded.

Ramapo College offers Bachelor's degrees in the arts, business, humanities, social sciences, and the sciences, as well as in professional studies including nursing, social work, and teacher education (elementary and secondary level) The College also offers a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree and nine Master's degree programs, as well as articulated programs with eight institutions of higher education in New York and New Jersey. The majority of students enrolled at Ramapo complete our Career Pathways Program within their first two years, and many choose to study abroad, join some of our more than 150 student clubs, and are inducted into honor societies or Greek organizations. Ramapo offers an average class size of 21, which affords students the opportunity to develop close ties to Ramapo's exceptional faculty, and a current average student to faculty ratio of 15 to 1. Approximately 92 percent of full-time faculty hold terminal degrees in their fields. In June 2020, Ramapo's accreditation was reaffirmed by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education after a comprehensive evaluation and campus visit, which resulted in multiple commendations and no requirements or recommendations. Ramapo programs have been accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), and the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). Ramapo College expanded its George T. Potter library facilities and services, which are now located in the Peter P. Mercer Learning Commons state-of-the-art building that opened in Fall 2021. Ramapo welcomed our fifth president, Dr. Cindy R. Jebb, in July 2021. Currently, Dr. Jebb is in the midst of chartering the next "Strategic plan" for the institution, which is expected to be unveiled by January 2023. The strategic planning process, initiated in November 2021, has included roundtable sessions on related topics, and involved collecting meaningful information from the college community.
