From the Institution

An SAIC education is crafted for the specific needs of artists, designers, and scholars. With us, you won't declare a major, but will design your own course of study. Beginning with an idea, liberal arts coursework and off-campus study - internships or study trips - act as fuel for the ideas you bring to fruition in the studio. To encourage experimentation and professional preparation, we have a credit/no-credit grading system in which critiques with your faculty and peers provide valuable feedback. We are also proud to be the only art and design school in the world with a world-class museum, the Art Institute of Chicago, as an integral part of our campus.
