Rooted in its Franciscan tradition, St. Bonaventure University provides a values-based education that embraces students of all faiths and orientations. Passionate faculty and staff encourage students to follow their hearts and enlighten their minds. The university offers individual attention from professors, a beautiful residential setting, and a friendly, close-knit atmosphere. Complementing St. Bonaventure's traditions are innovative degree programs in Arts & Sciences, Communication, Education, Business and Health Professions. St. Bonaventure instills in students a passion for learning and living. Our professors are committed and approachable faculty who dedicate themselves to making connections - among themselves, their courses and, most important, their students. Our students often work alongside faculty on research projects that are often reserved only for graduate students at other institutions. Learning extends far beyond the academic halls at St. Bonaventure. Many students take the opportunity to serve area children through Bona Buddies or senior citizens through Silver Wolves; help with our national award-winning soup kitchen, The Warming House; or volunteer in one of many service organizations, including ENACTUS and BonaResponds, one of the most active collegiate disaster relief organizations in the nation. Career preparation begins in a student's first year, where 95% of our graduates are employed or move on to graduate work within six months of graduation and our graduation rates are consistently 20% higher than the national average. In the past 15 years, we have invested more than $100 million updating and expanding our academic, recreational, dining and residential facilities, which has transformed our campus and infused our curriculum. St. Bonaventure students enjoy two athletic facilities. The university has 17 Division I sports competing in the Atlantic 10 and men's and women's rugby programs that compete with the best in the nation. More than 80 percent of our students take part in intramurals, club sports or fitness programs. Most undergraduate students live on campus. Academic and social support services for new students are offered through the Student Success Center in partnership with the division of Student Affairs, including first-year student housing and a peer mentor program. All of our residence halls feature free laundry facilities and WiFi.
