From the Institution

Founded by the Sisters of St. Joseph in 1916, St. Joseph's University, New York has provided an affordable liberal arts education to a diverse group of students for more than 100 years. Independent and coeducational, St. Joseph's prepares students for lives of integrity, intellectual rigor, spiritual depth, social responsibility and service; lives that are worthy of the University's motto: Esse non videri - "To be, not to seem." With more than 2,500 students and 330 faculty members, our Long Island campus challenges students to develop their full potential while benefiting from a 13:1 student-to-faculty ratio that provides individual attention in an open, supportive atmosphere. Our 32-acre lakeside campus in Patchogue, New York, is home to our state-of-the-art Student Center, an ultra-modern 33,200-square-foot building that serves as the epicenter of student life on campus. In addition, campus amenities include the Clare Rose Playhouse, Callahan Library, John A. Danzi Athletic Center and a 24.8-acre outdoor field complex.
