From the Institution

Taylor University is a vibrant community of scholarship and Christian faith. Founded in 1846, it is the oldest nondenominational school in the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities and is among the Midwest region's top colleges. Along with exceptional academics and high freshman retention and graduation rates, Taylor is characterized by intentional community, global engagement, and the integration of faith and learning. With over 100 areas of study, Taylor has outstanding programs in the health sciences, film, engineering, computer science, business, education, and theatre. With a 14:1 student-faculty ratio, small class sizes mean that no matter the program, faculty are able to personally invest in their students and share their expertise in a variety of innovative ways. Across Taylor's campus in Upland, Indiana, students conduct faculty-guided scientific research, learn how to use state-of-the-art technology, and compete successfully on faculty-sponsored math, business, and ethics bowl teams. Also featured are award-winning music ensemble and drama performances, and art shows by students and guests alike. Students form global perspectives and develop habits of worldwide ministry and engagement through study abroad participation, typically involving travel opportunities to over 30 countries. No matter what and where they study, Taylor students examine a broad range of ideas and develop critical thinking skills through a liberal arts curriculum. This interdisciplinary approach employs the lens of a Christian worldview and pushes students to pursue truth and beauty-and it is effective. Taylor's academic programs have a 99% outcome rate within six months of graduation, leading to top-notch internships and job placements, as well as admittance to nationally-ranked graduate schools. Outside of the classroom, Taylor champions whole-person education: as a primarily residential institution, 91% of traditional undergraduate Taylor students live on campus. Freshmen through seniors live side by side across eight residence halls, creating a unique culture of discipleship and mentoring-as well as lifelong friendships. Distinctive student development programs, collegiate and intramural athletics, and leadership development initiatives integrate faith and culture. Students share a passion for serving God and others, making ministry outreach, Bible studies, and small groups essential parts of community life on campus. Taylor produces exceptional graduates marked by a passion to minister the redemptive love, grace, and truth of Jesus Christ to a world in need. Alumni, transformed by their Taylor experience, support their alma mater with enthusiasm, investing in current Taylor students through networking and advice, and expressing extremely high satisfaction with their Taylor education.
