From the Institution

Touro University in New York is part of the Touro University System, America's largest not-for-profit independent institution of higher education under Jewish auspices. Touro opened in 1971 with 35 students. Today approximately 19,000 students from all backgrounds are enrolled in schools at its 35 campuses and locations. At the undergraduate level, students choose from an array of fields-from finance, accounting and business to biology/premed, nursing as well as marketing, computer science, cybersecurity, psychology and more. On the graduate and professional level, Touro offers programs in medicine, dentistry and pharmacy as well as law, business, education, social work, technology and allied health - all reflecting a commitment to academic excellence, applied knowledge and service to society. In 2023, Touro officially opened a new state-of-the-art flagship campus in Times Square that is home to one of its undergraduate divisions as well as multiple graduate schools and the pharmacy school. Touro is known for fostering close faculty-student relationships and student camaraderie. Individual attention and mentoring promotes student success. Students are supported with peer tutoring, career guidance, internship placements and flexible scheduling. A Medical Honors Pathway affords students from three of Touro's undergraduate colleges the opportunity to continue studies at New York Medical College upon completion of their undergraduate work. Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in Harlem and Middletown; Touro College of Pharmacy in Harlem; and the School of Health Sciences offer an Integrated Honors Track for aspiring osteopathic physicians, pharmacists, physician assistants and physical therapists. Touro has expanded to launch programs in underserved areas that offer training opportunities to students while serving communities in need. Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine now has a branch campus in Great Falls, Montana and a dental clinic is being launched in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In addition, Touro's 7th physician assistant program was launched in 2024, in Los Angeles. Touro also acquired world class research facilities in Montana and New Mexico, offering opportunities for students to participate in high level research in key areas impacting the health and lives of thousands. Finally, this year New York College of Podiatric Medicine officially joined Touro University, adding to the schools existing comprehensive network of medical and health-science schools and augmenting and strengthening Touro's academic offerings.
