AP Credit Policy
The United States Coast Guard Academy does not grant transfer credit for high achievement on AP Exams. There is a validation procedure whereby cadets may request a course exemption, based on personal competency or academic work completed elsewhere. This procedure affords cadets the opportunity to enroll in additional courses that will further enrich their undergraduate education. The requirements to validate a course are exclusively governed by the Academic Department responsible for offering the course. General guidelines have been established, to include AP results, to assist in identifying cadets that qualify to take validation exams.
For more information, view the credit policy on the college's website.
