The Ana G. Méndez University (UAGM) is a private, non-profit higher education institution founded in 1949. It is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSA) and licensed by the Board of Postsecondary Institutions of Puerto Rico (J.I.P.). It has three main campuses and nine university centers around the island. In addition, it owns the only television channel in Puerto Rico affiliated with the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS).
