From the Institution

Founded in 1864, the University of Denver is the oldest private research university in the Rocky Mountain region that empowers students who want to make a difference. Recognized as a Very High Research University (or "R1") by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education, DU offers more than 300 academic programs serving about 12,000 graduate and undergraduate students. At DU, we pride ourselves in offering a multi-dimensional, adventure-driven education that prepares our students to be leaders in their community and thrive in a dynamic world. We call it the 4D Experience. All students learn and discover at our urban campus in the heart of Denver, supported by world-class faculty and a network of mentors and advisors. At our James C. Kennedy Mountain Campus, all students immerse themselves in nature, connect with peers and explore new ideas. Committed to inspiring the campus to think and act globally, DU students benefit from an experience that channels passions to serve the public good. Every student benefits from an innovative curriculum that emphasizes experiential learning and cross-disciplinary inquiry. Our Cherrington Global Scholars program offers study-abroad opportunities on six continents at no additional cost, allowing over 70% of students to participate in this transformative experience. Outside of the classroom, DU students enjoy NCAA Division I competition, the region's vast recreational opportunities and the rich cultural, club and organizational offerings on campus.
