West Virginia Wesleyan College West Virginia Wesleyan College aspires to graduate broadly educated men and women who: Think critically and creatively, Communicate effectively, Act responsibly, and Demonstrate their local and world citizenship through service. Located two hours south of Pittsburgh, PA, West Virginia Wesleyan offers 53 majors of study, and eleven graduate programs in athletic training, business administration, and nursing, and 21 NCAA Division II sports. Personal attention and small classes allow for a challenging, yet supportive environment, the hallmark of a Wesleyan education. With a student faculty ratio of 12:1, Wesleyan students frequently interact with faculty in lively classroom discussions, exciting research projects, or sidewalk conversations. The Colleges ten performing arts groups are regionally renowned and tour throughout the region. Wesleyan students actively participate in a wide variety of community engagement projects. The beautiful campus is situated on 90 park-like acres and features Georgian redbrick architecture. It is located within two hours of many West Virginia parks, ski resorts, and whitewater rafting. The College recently opened of the Virginia Thomas Law Center for the Performing Arts and the David. E. Reemsnyder Research Center. In addition, a new residence hall, one of nine dorms on the campus, opened in the fall of 2011 with suite-style ultra modern living arrangements. The combination of an outstanding academic program and rich co-curricular opportunities is why Wesleyan consistently ranks among the top schools in the state in retention and graduation rates. Because access to higher education is important, Wesleyan offers academic, athletic, community service, leadership, and performing and visual arts scholarships. Over 95 percent of Wesleyan students receive scholarships and grants.
