Winthrop grants 45 undergraduate degrees and 22 graduate degrees across four colleges: the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Business and Technology, the Riley College of Education, Sport and Human Sciences, and the College of Visual and Performing Arts. A fifth college - the Honors College - will be offered in fall 2025, along with the first doctoral degree, an Ed.D. in Leadership and Innovation degree. With the most comprehensive portfolio of nationally accredited arts programs in South Carolina, CVPA stands as the Top School for the Arts in the state, ranking first for Performing Arts and in the Top Third Percent nationally for Design, according to NICHE rankings. The business college is AACSB-accredited - a designation held by less than 6% of programs worldwide. Alumni from our teacher education program are highly sought-after, and students in our science programs are often accepted to prestigious masters and doctorate programs. Winthrop enrolls a student body of around 5,000 graduate and undergraduate students. Undergraduates represent 43 states and 39 countries with minorities comprising 49% of the student population. The student-faculty ratio is 13:1, the average class size is 21, and 86% of full-time faculty hold terminal degrees in their discipline.
