One of the leading academic institutions in the Northeast, Delaware Valley University (DelVal) is a small, close-knit university known for its innovative use of experiential (hands-on) learning. Located in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, about 30 miles north of Philadelphia, the University offers more than 25 undergraduate majors in life and physical sciences, business, the humanities, and agricultural and environmental sciences; a doctorate in education, 10 master's degrees, and many graduate certificates in a variety of fields. Founded in 1896, DelVal currently educates approximately 1,759 undergraduate students, 430 graduate students and more than 445 community programming participants. DelVal was named the top experiential learning program by the National Society for Experiential Education in 2019. It has been named one of the best colleges in the Northeast by Princeton Review for more than 10 years, and by College Factual as having one of the top 20 animal science programs in the country. DelVal has been named for the past several years in the U.S. News & World Report Best Regional Universities - North list, and was highlighted in the "Top Performers for Social Mobility." DelVal is one of the few colleges and universities in the country to require an experiential learning component, individualized to each student's major. Our innovative Experience360 Program prepares students to problem-solve, integrating classroom knowledge with practical applications through internships, study abroad trips, leadership opportunities, career exploration and more. Through the E360 Program, 100 percent of DelVal students gain real-world, hands-on experiences that are tailored to their major and career goals. Personal development is cultivated in each student throughout their academic career, building confidence and problem-solving, communication and networking skills, and enhancing leadership competence. All of this leads to positive career outcomes. Students also come to DelVal for the sense of community. With a student-to-faculty ratio of just 13:1, students quickly become part of a close-knit campus with many opportunities in and out of the classroom to interact in areas of interest. Thirty percent of DelVal students are student athletes, and most take advantage of the more than 70 clubs and student organizations.
