Established in 1867, King is a Presbyterian-affiliated, doctoral-level comprehensive university serving the Southeast and beyond. The University offers more than 90 majors, minors, and pre-professional programs, and confers degrees in two-year, four-year, and graduate-level programs. Adult-oriented degree programs are offered, including Bachelor of Business Administration, Master of Business Administration, RN to BSN, Social Work, Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, Master of Nursing, and Doctor of Nursing Practice. King is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) and is a member of numerous associations including the Appalachian College Association (ACA) and the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU). Additional accreditations for King programs include the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). King's undergraduate student-to-faculty ratio of approximately 9 to 1 and family-oriented campus atmosphere provide students with personal attention from professors and the opportunity to create lasting friendships. Incoming students experience a curriculum that broadens their understanding of the word and its place in it. The curriculum also helps students examine career options and begin working toward a degree in their chosen fields. A variety of extracurricular activities are available to King University students year-round. There are more than 20 student clubs and organizations on campus. King also has active intercollegiate and intramural sports programs that utilize the gymnasium, student center, tennis courts, soccer field, baseball diamond, and nature trails. King University is a NCAA Division II and a Conference Carolinas member with 25 varsity sports.
