AP Credit Policy

Advanced Placement (AP) scores are normally accepted by the College for placement and credit on the following basis: Scores of 3, 4 or 5: Student may receive four credit hours or placement in a higher-level course as approved by the department. In some cases, up to 12 credit hours may be awarded for a score of 5. Score of 2 or lower: No advanced placement or credit is given. AP credit may be applied to fulfill both major requirements and the general education requirements as appropriate. The number of AP credits awarded is subject to change depending on changes in the tests and at the discretion of the department chair.
