The 1,100 students benefit from a student to faculty ratio of 11:1. The majority of Simpson faculty hold the highest degree in their field, but they also are dedicated to nurturing each students growth. They work side by side with students and promote hands-on learning, equipping students with the skills demanded by todays employers and graduate schools. This personalized attention by experts in their field is an added value of a Simpson education. And the college prides itself on helping undecided students find a major or life direction. Simpson offers over 80 majors and minors, highlighted by a leading-edge curriculum that is gaining national attention. As part of this, students take advantage of community partnerships, hold internships, study abroad and conduct independent research. The popular 4-4-1 academic calendar allows students a three-week May term to participate in an intensive field experience/internship, or study abroad, or take a course on campus. Campus life is robust and engaged. There are more than 75 clubs and organizations. Simpsons athletic teams compete in NCAA Division III. The music, theatre and arts programs are nationally acclaimed, and participation is open to all students, not just majors.
