The Acorn and Feeney Scholarship provides financial assistance to college-bound residents of downstate Illinois who identify as LGBTQIA+, are allies, or are children of LGBTQIA+ parents. Students attending or planning to attend a postsecondary institution who demonstrate strong academic achievement, volunteerism, and community advocacy are encouraged to apply.

  • Resident of Illinois (except Cook, DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, and Will counties)

  • LGBTQIA+, allies, or children of LGBTQIA+ parents
  • Participation in community advocacy, community service, or extracurricular activities
