Requirements
  • This program is open to children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of veterans who served during specified periods of wartime.
  • Applicants must be residents of Texas who are attending or planning to attend a postsecondary institution in any state.
  • Eligibility is not limited to high school seniors; anyone meeting the requirements may apply.
  • Selection is based on scholarship (25%), character and leadership (25%), initiative and goals (25%), and financial need (25%).
  • Applications for these scholarships must be submitted through local units of the American Legion Auxiliary in Texas.
