The Alex Newton Scholarship recognizes residents of Burke, Columbia, McDuffie, Richmond, or Warren counties in Georgia. Students who plan to attend Augusta Technical College are welcome to apply. Special consideration will be given to students pursuing an associate degree in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) field. Additional consideration is given to students with financial need and those with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Requirements
  • Resident of Burke, Columbia, McDuffie, Richmond, or Warren counties in Georgia
  • Seeking a professional certification or associate degree from Augusta Technical College as a fulltime student
  • Participate in community service, church, or extracurricular activities Preference is given to students pursuing an associate degree in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) field, followed by students who need financial assistance to continue their education. Additionally, preference will be given to an applicant with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
