The American Legion Auxiliary Scholarship for Non-Traditional Students provides financial assistance to members of the American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary, or Sons of the American Legion, U.S. Armed Services active duty, veterans, or their spouses. Students returning to school after an interrupted period of education or students beginning their education are welcome to apply.

Requirements
  • Member of the American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary, or Sons of the American Legion who have paid dues for two years before the application due date **OR,**
  • Veteran of the U.S. armed forces honorably discharged **OR,**
  • Spouse of active duty, honorably discharged, or veteran of U.S. Armed Forces
  • Resident of the U.S.
  • Nontraditional students continuing a prior education or just starting an educational career
  • Seeking a professional certification, associate, or bachelor's degree
  • Participation in community service, extracurricular activities, or leadership
