Requirements
  • This program is open to U.S. citizens and permanent residents who are diagnosed with bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, or schizoaffective disorder.
  • Applicants must be receiving medical treatment for the disease and be actively involved in rehabilitative or reintegrative efforts.
  • They must be interested in pursuing postsecondary education, including trade or vocational school programs, high school equivalency programs, associate degrees, bachelor's degrees, or graduate programs.
  • Selection is based on the quality of the essay, academic success, 3 references, thoughtfulness, appropriateness of academic and vocational/career goals, rehabilitation involvement, success in dealing with the disease, recent volunteer and/or vocational experience, and completion of application requirements.
