Bart Kamen Memorial FIRST Scholarship Fund provides financial assistance to high school seniors and recent graduates who have participated in a FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) program and plan to study biomedical engineering and/or medicine at a college in any state.

Requirements
  • This program is open to high school seniors and graduates who have not yet begun full-time undergraduate study at a college or university.
  • Applicants must have participated as a team member for at least 1 year on a FIRST Lego League, FIRST Tech Challenge, or FIRST Robotics Competition team.
  • They must be planning to enroll fulltime in a biomedical engineering or pre-medical program at a college or university in any state.
  • Selection is based on academic performance, character, passion for biomedical engineering and/or medicine, and participation in FIRST programs; financial need may also be considered, but it is not required.
