Bill Creech Scholarship provides financial assistance for college to children and grandchildren of members of the Second Indianhead Division Association.

Requirements

This program is open to 1) children and grandchildren of veterans who have been members of the association for the past 3 years and have a current membership; and 2) children and grandchildren of men or women killed in action while serving with the Second Division.

Applicants may be high school seniors or currentlyenrolled college students.

They must submit a personal letter giving reasons for the request and plans for the future; a high school and, if appropriate, college transcript; ACT or SAT test scores; a statement from their school principal attesting to their character and involvement in extracurricular activities; 2 letters of recommendation from current teachers or professors; a 200 to 300-word essay on such subjects as "What Being an American Means to Me," "Why I Should Receive This Scholarship," or "What Significant Part of U.S. Army History Has the Second Infantry Division Contributed;" and a statement from their parents or guardians on the financial support they will be able to provide the applicant.
