Bob Allen Scholarship provides financial assistance to high school seniors who are members of the New York State Amateur Hockey Association (NYSAHA) and planning to attend college in any state.

Requirements
  • This program is open to NYSAHA members who are graduating from high school or prep school in New York and planning to enroll full-time at a 2- or 4-year college, university, or vocational school in any state.
  • Applicants must submit a 2page essay on 1) their short-and long-term goals for the future; 2) their involvement in school and community activities that are not related to hockey, the role they play in each, and the lessons they have learned from being involved in those activities; 3) the lessons they have learned from their involvement in hockey; and 4) how the lessons they learned from all their activities will help them reach their short-and long-term goals.
  • Selection is based on that essay, academic status, number of years of NYSAHA membership, scholastic honors and awards, curricular and extracurricular activities, positions of leadership held, communityrelated activities, and letters of recommendation.
