The Buerkle Scholarship supports graduates, including GED recipients and home-schooled students, from high schools in Clackamas and Marion counties in Oregon as they continue their postsecondary education. Students who plan to study English, journalism, math, music, or physical education. Special consideration is given to nontraditional students, those returning to college after a long absence, and who are planning to attend an Oregon institution, as well as students with a required GPA.

  • Graduates, including GED recipients and homeschooled graduates, of high school in Clackamas or Marion County, Oregon
  • Seeking an associate or bachelor's degree fulltime
  • Studying English, journalism, math, music, or physical education
  • U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen
  • Demonstrate financial need Preference is given to nontraditional students, those returning to college after a long absence, and who are planning to attend an Oregon institution, as well as students with a GPA of 3.5.
