Requirements
  • This program is open to graduating high school seniors in California who are planning to attend a college or university in the state to major in a field related to horticulture (e.g., agribusiness, viticulture, pomology).
  • Applicants must submit essays on their educational objectives and their occupational goals as they relate to the nursery industry or horticulture.
  • Selection is based on those essays, transcripts, leadership activities and awards in FFA/ROP/4H, high school supervised occupational experience or industry work experience, community activities related to horticulture, other activities and offices held in high school, and 2 letters of reference.
  • Financial need is not considered.
