The Carville M. Akehurst Memorial Scholarship is available to students who are residents of Maryland, Virginia, or West Virginia studying horticulture or closely related fields. Students pursuing a career in the environmental/ornamental horticulture industry are encouraged to apply. Special consideration is given to undergraduate students.

  • Studying horticulture or closely related fields, including horticulture, horticultural science, nursery or greenhouse management, landscape design, ornamental horticulture, plant science, landscape architecture, forestry, and horticulturerelated business or marketing
  • Plan to pursue a career in the environmental/ornamental horticulture industry Preference is given to undergraduate students.
