The Charles Homer Barton Memorial Scholarship is open to children of active and retired police officers in Fairfax and Loudoun counties, Virginia. Those who demonstrate academic achievement and community service are encouraged to apply. Children of police officers killed in the line of duty receive primary consideration.

  • Child of an active or retired police officer or sheriff's deputy employed by the Fairfax County Police Department, the Loudon County Sheriff's Office, or the Leesburg, Middleburg, or Purcellville police departments
  • Resident of the U.S.
  • High school senior or undergraduate student
  • Seeking an associate or bachelor's degree
  • Participation in community service
  • Demonstrate strong academic achievement Preference is given to children of police officers who have been killed in the line of duty.
