The Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX) Scholarship supports high school students with a strong desire to study abroad in Germany. U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or U.S. nationals who are residents of Alabama, Arkansas, Guam, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, Tennessee, or Wisconsin are welcome to apply.

Requirements
  • Minimum 2.50 GPA
  • Resident of Alabama, Arkansas, Guam, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, Tennessee, or Wisconsin
  • High school freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior
  • U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or U.S. national
  • Desire to study abroad in Germany
  • Show an interest in learning the German language
  • Aged 15 to 18 ½ on August 1 of the program departure year
  • Exhibit motivation for a crosscultural experience, including flexibility, curiosity, open-mindedness, and tolerance for adversity
