Daedalian Foundation Descendants' Scholarship provides financial assistance to descendants of members of the Order of Daedalians who wish to prepare for a career in military aviation or space.

Requirements

This program is open to descendants of members of the order who are working on or planning to work on a baccalaureate or higher degree.

Applicants must be interested in and willing to commit to a career as a commissioned military pilot, flight crew member, astronaut, or commissioned officer in 1 of the armed forces of the United States in a discipline directly supporting aeronautics or astronautics.

They must be physically and mentally qualified for flight and/or space; if they intend to pursue a nonflying career as a commissioned officer in a scientific or engineering discipline supporting aviation or space, they must pass a physical examination qualifying for active commissioned duty in the U.S. armed forces.

Nominations must be submitted by a local chapter (Flight) of Daedalian.

Selection is based on academic achievement and recognition, extracurricular activities, honors, and employment experience.

Financial needs may be considered if all other factors are equal.
