The David D. and Ruth A. Schneider Scholarship is available to graduating seniors and graduates of a high school in Hancock or Hardin counties in Ohio. Applicants should be a current or former foster care child who was either in foster care, adopted from foster care, or will be their foster care. Students who have the desire to improve themselves and the likelihood of achieving success in pursuit of postsecondary education are encouraged to apply. Special consideration is given to students pursuing a STEM degree. Students who receive a full-ride from other organizations are not eligible to apply.

Requirements
  • Minimum 2.75 GPA
  • Resident of Hancock or Hardin counties, Ohio
  • High school senior or undergraduate student
  • Graduating senior or graduate of a high school in Hancock or Hardin counties in Ohio
  • Current or former child in foster care child either in foster care on their 18th birthday, adopted from foster care with the adoption finalized after their 16th birthday, or will have their foster care case closed between the ages of 18 and 21
  • Demonstrate financial need Preference is given to students pursuing a STEM degree.
