The David E. Knox Memorial Nursing Fellowship program supports nursing students who have completed prerequisites for the nursing (BSN or RN) degree-seeking program. Students who are planning to commit to a 1-year service obligation to practice nursing in a small community in Alaska are welcome to apply. Special consideration is given to students with financial needs who are eligible for graduation within 2 years of the academic term for when the award will be used, and who wish to practice in operating rooms.

  • Seeking a professional certification or associate degree fulltime
  • Studying for a BSN or RN degree
  • Participation in leadership
  • Display compassion for patients and coworkers, and a high level of organization and attention to detail Preference is given to students with financial needs who are eligible for graduation within 2 years of the academic term for when the award will be used, and who wish to practice in operating rooms.
