Denver Metropolitan Post SAME Scholarship provides financial assistance to Colorado engineering students who have ties to a member of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Denver Metropolitan Post or involved in JROTC or ROTC programs.

Requirements

This program is open to 1) high school seniors who are sponsored by a SAME Denver Post member or enrolled in a JROTC program and intending to enroll in engineering or a related field (e.g., architecture, chemistry, computer science, environmental studies, construction, mathematics, physics) at a 4-year college or university; and 2) current college students who are either the children of a SAME Denver Post member or currently enrolled in an ROTC program at a college or university and working on a degree in engineering or a related field (e.g., architecture, chemistry, computer science, environmental studies, construction, mathematics, physics).

For children of SAME members, preference is given to students at Front Range colleges and universities, but that is not required.

Applicants must submit a paragraph explaining why they are interested in engineering or an engineeringrelated field of study and why they should receive this scholarship.

Selection is based on that essay, GPA, SAT score, extracurricular and professional activities, and honors or other recognition.
