About the Scholarship

The Deputy William G. “Billy” Giacomo Scholarship celebrates children or grandchildren of law enforcement officers who work or have worked in Nicholas County, West Virginia, including City Police, Sheriff’s Department, and State Police in Nicholas County, DNR, or those officers living in Nicholas County employed by Federal agencies. Graduating high school seniors from Richwood High School or Nicholas County High School are welcome to apply. Applicants pursuing a degree that would lead to a career as a criminal defender are not eligible to apply. Students pursuing a degree in law enforcement receive special consideration.
