The Dorothy Ross Memorial Scholarship is available to students who have spent time in the San Luis Obispo Juvenile Detention Services Center in California and have a desire to overcome past obstacles through higher education. Graduating high school seniors, graduates, or GED recipients from a San Luis Obispo County high school in California are welcome to apply.

Requirements
  • Resident of San Luis Obispo County, California
  • Graduating high school senior, graduate, or GED recipient from a high school in San Luis Obispo County, California
  • Involvement in the Juvenile Justice System including: Spent time in the Juvenile Hall of San Luis Obispo County, California - Been on formal or informal juvenile probation in San Luis Obispo County - Currently attending or have attended court or a community school - Participated in the Youth In Action program or a similar prevention-focused program administered by, or in collaboration with, the Juvenile Justice System in San Luis Obispo County
  • Seeking a professional certification, associate, or bachelor's degree
  • Aged 25 or younger
  • Demonstrate life change and a commitment to higher education
