Doug Ingalls Scholarship Contest recognizes and rewards high school seniors in Massachusetts who demonstrate outstanding talent in an acting audition and plan to major in any field at a college or university in any state.

Requirements
  • This program is open to seniors at high schools that are members of the Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild.
  • Applicants must register to perform in an acting audition held in conjunction with the annual guild festival.
  • They must perform 2 contrasting pieces with a total performance time that may not exceed 4 minutes.
  • Selection is based on character development, physicality, vocal work, overall effect, and overall presentation; each category is worth 20 points (10 points per monologue).
  • Recipients must enroll as fulltime students at an institution of higher learning in any state in the fall following the audition. They may major in any field. There is a $15 application fee.
