Emerging Teacher-Leaders in Elementary School Mathematics Grants provides funding to elementary school teachers interested in developing mathematics content expertise.

Requirements
  • This program is open to full-time elementary school teachers in grades PreK-5 who are individual members of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM).
  • Applicants must have at least 3 years of experience and have mathematics as regular teaching responsibility.
  • They must be interested in a program of professional development within the school or district to strengthen their mathematical understandings and instructional practices.
  • The proposed program must include sustained inservice programs focusing on improving the content knowledge of the elementary teachers within the school or district and working with teachers in their classrooms through demonstration teaching or co-teaching.
  • Awardees are required to submit a report (up to 2 pages) that includes an itemized report of expenses.
