Emily Lester Vermont Opportunity Scholarship provides financial assistance to residents of Vermont who are or have been under the custody of the Department for Children and Families (DCF) and wish to attend college in the state.

Requirements
  • This program is open to residents of Vermont who are 1) currently under the custody of the DCF; or 2) between 18 and 24 years of age and have been under the custody of the DCF for at least 6 months when they were between 16 and 18 years of age.
  • Applicants must be attending or planning to attend college in the state to work on an undergraduate degree.
  • They must be able to demonstrate financial need.
