Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz College Scholarship Program provides financial assistance for college to members of the USS Nimitz (CVN-68) Association, their children and grandchildren, and the children of crew members currently serving on the USS Nimitz.

Requirements

This program is open to active members of the association, dependent children of crew members currently serving on the USS Nimitz, and dependent children and grandchildren of association members.

Applicants must be graduating high school seniors or students currently enrolled fulltime at an accredited college, university, or community college.

Selection is based on that essay (15 points for the quality of the message and 15 points for grammar, spelling, and punctuation), GPA (multiplied by 10 points), volunteer work times (number of hours times 1 point, to a maximum of 15 points), sponsor involvement in the association (up to 10 points), and honor awards (up to 20 points).
