Fort Hood Area Military Family Member Scholarship Fund High School Scholarship provides financial assistance to high school seniors with ties to Fort Hood in Texas who are children of military personnel and planning to attend college in any state.

Requirements
  • This program is open to graduating high school seniors who have a valid U.S. military identification card and are enrolled in DEERS. Applicants must be 1) the dependent child of an active-duty military member (including Reserve and Guard members activated at the time of application) assigned to Fort Hood; 2) the dependent child of an active-duty military member whose last duty assignment was Fort Hood and currently resides in Bell, Coryell, Lampasas, McLennan, Travis, and Williamson counties in Texas while their military sponsor is on a non-command assignment on orders; 3) the dependent child of a retired military member and both the military sponsor and the applicant reside in those Texas counties, or 4) the dependent child of a deceased member of the U.S. military forces and the applicant resides in those Texas counties.
  • Applicants must be planning to attend an accredited institution of higher learning in any state.
  • Selection is based on the essay, academic record, participation in school and community activities, and letters of recommendation; financial need is not considered.
