Fort Hood Area Military Family Member Scholarship Fund Military Spouse Scholarship provides financial assistance to spouses of military personnel who have ties to Fort Hood in Texas and are interested in attending college in any state.

Requirements
  • This program is open to graduating high school graduates who have a valid U.S. military identification card and are enrolled in DEERS. Applicants must be 1) the dependent spouse of an active-duty military member (including Reserve and Guard members activated at the time of application) assigned to Fort Hood; 2) the dependent spouse of an active-duty military member whose last duty assignment was Fort Hood and currently resides in Bell, Coryell, Lampasas, McLennan, Travis, and Williamson counties in Texas while their military spouse is on a non-command assignment on orders; 3) the dependent spouse of a retired military member and both the military sponsor and the applicant reside in those Texas counties, or 4) the dependent spouse of a deceased member of the U.S. military forces and the applicant resides in those Texas counties.
  • Applicants must be planning to attend an accredited institution of higher learning in any state.
  • Selection is based on the essay, academic record, participation in school and community activities, and letters of recommendation; financial need is not considered.
