About the Scholarship

The FOSSI scholarship supports students planning to pursue a degree in a STEM-related field. High school seniors who demonstrate academic achievement and who are planning to attend an HBCU are welcome to apply. Recipients of this scholarship will receive internship preparation and placement, leadership training, and mentoring.

Requirements
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Graduating high school senior
  • Seeking an associate or bachelor's degree fulltime at an HBCU
  • Studying for a degree in an approved chemical and engineering STEMrelated field
  • U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident
  • Interest in pursuing a career in chemical manufacturing, engineering, environmental health, sustainability, or a related chemicalindustry field
  • Proven academic achievement
  • Participate in community service
  • Demonstrate financial need Students interested in nursing, medicine, psychology, social sciences, and other associated fields are not eligible to apply.
