Friends of the Lower Appomattox River (FOLAR) Environmental Stewardship Scholarship recognizes graduating seniors and graduates of high schools in designated communities in Virginia. Students who participate in community service and extracurricular activities and demonstrate good communication skills are encouraged to apply. Those who are pursuing an environmental-related career and/or who have participated in an environmental service program receive special consideration.

  • Resident of Chesterfield, Dinwiddie, or Prince George counties, Colonial Heights, Hopewell, or Petersburg, Virginia
  • High school senior or undergraduate student
  • Seeking a professional certification, associate, or bachelor's degree full or parttime
  • Participation in extracurricular activities Preference is given to a student pursuing an environmentalrelated career and/or who has participated in an environmental service program.
