The Gene and Lee Meyer Scholarship program supports graduating public high school seniors from Graham, Jackson, Macon, and Swain counties, or the Qualla Boundary (Cherokee Indian Reservation), North Carolina. Well-rounded students who are motivated to pursue higher education and have financial needs, Native American Indians who can prove at least 25% tribal affiliation, and students transitioning out of foster care receive special consideration.

Requirements
  • Minimum 3.00 GPA
  • Resident of Graham, Jackson, Macon, and Swain counties or the Qualla Boundary, North Carolina
  • High school senior
  • Seeking a professional certification, associate, or bachelor's degree fulltime
  • U.S. citizen
  • Participation in community service, extracurricular activities, leadership, or work
  • Exhibit strong moral character
