The Gene and Lee Meyer Scholarship program supports graduating public high school seniors from Graham, Jackson, Macon, and Swain counties, or the Qualla Boundary (Cherokee Indian Reservation), North Carolina who are U.S. citizens. Well-rounded students who are motivated to pursue higher education and have financial needs, Native American Indians who can prove at least 25% tribal affiliation, and students transitioning out of foster care receive special consideration.

Requirements
  • Minimum 3.00 GPA
  • Resident of Graham, Jackson, Macon, and Swain counties or the Qualla Boundary, North Carolina

  • Participation in community service, extracurricular activities, or work
  • Exhibit strong moral character and leadership skills
