Greater Kansas City Chapter Urban Financial Services Coalition Student Scholarship provides financial assistance to undergraduate and graduate students from underrepresented minority groups who are attending college in the Greater Kansas City area to prepare for a career in the financial services industry.

Requirements
  • This program is open to members of underrepresented minority groups who are enrolled as undergraduate or graduate students at a college or university in the Greater Kansas City area.
  • Applicants must submit brief essays in which they explain their decision to work or their interest in the financial services industry, how they are preparing for a career in that industry after college graduation, and the importance of the Urban Financial Services Coalition to Kansas City and the financial services industry and how they will use the organization's scholarship to further its goals.
  • Based on those essays, the scholarship committee interviews finalists by telephone and provides them with a topic related to the financial services industry on which they are invited to submit an essay.
  • Based on those essays, first, second-, and third-place winners are selected to receive these scholarships.
