Hampton Roads Chapter AFCEA Undergraduate Scholarship provides financial assistance to residents of the Hampton Roads area of Virginia who is working on or planning to work on a degree in selected fields of STEM at a school in any state.

Requirements
  • This program is open to residents of the Hampton Roads area of Virginia (including the cities of Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, and Virginia Beach), active-duty military personnel assigned to commands within Hampton Roads, dependents of that active-duty military personnel, and dependents of members of the Hampton Roads Chapter of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA).
  • Applicants may be graduating high school seniors or undergraduate students.
  • They must be enrolled or planning to enroll fulltime at an accredited 4-year college or university in any state to prepare for a career that supports the focus of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) on military communications, electronics, information technology, or intelligence systems.
  • Eligible majors include, but are not limited to, computer science, electronics, engineering (aerospace, chemical, computer, electrical, or systems), management information systems, mathematics, physics, science or mathematics education, or technology management.
  • Selection is based on the essay, academic achievement, extracurricular activities and awards, work experience, and financial need.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
