Harold Taft Scholarship provides financial assistance to upper-division and graduate students who are working on a degree in a field related to weather at a college in Texas.

Requirements
  • This program is open to residents of Texas currently enrolled at an institution of higher learning in the state as a junior or higher.
  • Applicants must have at least 2 semesters remaining or be enrolled as a graduate student.
  • They must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher and be working on a degree in meteorology or atmospheric science as preparation for a career as a weather broadcaster.
  • They may, but are not required to, include links to onair or digital weather forecasts or stories from college or internship programs.
  • Special consideration is given to members of groups underrepresented in meteorology, defined as Black (African American), Hispanic, Asian or Pacific Islander, American Indian, Aleutian (Alaskan) Native, or Native Hawaiian.
