Harvey Hardin Legacy Scholarship provides financial assistance to children of members of the Hi-Lo Desert Golf Course Superintendents Association (GCSA) and other students preparing for a career in turf grass management.

Requirements
  • This program is open to students who meet 1 of the following requirements: 1) children of current Hi-Lo members who have been members for at least 1 year and are enrolled or planning to enroll full-time at a college or university in any state to major in any field; 2) currently employed in the turf-grass management industry and enrolled part-time in an accredited college turf grass management program; and 3) currently enrolled full time in an accredited college turf-grass management program.
  • Applicants must submit a 500word essay on 1 of the following topics: 1) the impact of the golf industry on their life; 2) the effects of the Coachella Valley golf courses on the community, or 3) a brief biography of an individual or a company's contribution to the Coachella Valley golf industry.
  • Selection is based on scholastic achievement, extracurricular and community involvement, volunteer activities, outside employment, and involvement with and experience in the turfgrass management fields.
